SIBU: Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is happy with the fair and balanced news coverage given by the local media.

SEB Corporate Communication assistant general manager Peing Tajang   said this at SEB Chinese New Year gathering with the local media at RH Hotel here recently.

“The state’s power provider aims to communicate in an open and transparent manner whether it is face to face or through the media in its interactions with customers and stakeholders.

”Central region is an important area for SEB which contributed almost 25 per cent or 160,000 from the total of 650,000 customers in Sarawak. It requires fair and balanced coverage for stories in our interactions and in our attempts to reach out to the public.”

Peing said that media coverage had enabled them to inform their customers and stakeholders of their on-going efforts to provide reliable power supply to homes and businesses in the central region and throughout the state.

“The media coverage also gives us insight into the expectations of our customers. Believe me that we follow the coverage religiously,” she said.

Among the activities held were a lucky draw, tossing of ‘yee sang’ and karaoke singing.

More than 30 journalists attended the gathering. Also present was SEB Central Region manager Peridah Samawi.
