KUCHING: The residential and retail landscape in Kuching is set to be changed once again with the impending opening of Simpang Tiga Precinct Mall (ST3), another highly anticipated project by premium property developer, Kenbest Sdn Bhd (Kenbest).

The up and coming landmark consists of a four-storey shopping complex and eight storeys of serviced residences.

According to Kenbest general manager, Anthony Yong, this entire project is an integrated development by Kenbest, which is also co-owned by the group.

“Aside from the unit facade, another distinctive feature of ST3 is the self-built ST3-linkway. It is a pedestrian footbridge which we hope could improve the safety and convenience of customers and the general public alike to safely cross Jalan Simpang Tiga,” Yong added.

He believed that with Jalan Simpang Tiga being the hub for education the federal government administration centre and being in close proximity to both the central business district and the Kuching International Airport, ST3’s residential component could add on to the conveniences and residential needs of people around.

“It will be anchored by Citadines, managed by the world’s largest and an internationally renowned service residence operator, The Ascott Ltd, a member of CapitaLand, one of Asia’s largest real estate company,” Yong explained.

He further added that The Ascott would manage and operate ST3’s 200 units of fully furnished apartments under their international brand of Citadines. He revealed that these apartments would be known as Citadines Uplands Kuching and would be operated like a hotel.

“It will be completed according to the international standards with all the must-have facilities such as swimming pool, gymnasium and spa.”

When fully opened, ST3’s shopping complex will house 200 retailers, including its mini anchor, a supermarket brand from Singapore known as Smart Supermarket and a new flagship outlet of Tai Ming Bookstore, an old Kuching brandname.
