SANDAKAN: A total of 144 households in Rancangan Sungai Luboh near here will soon be able to enjoy clean water supply with the free installation of water meter in their respective homes.

The matter was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman when he visited the district polling centre in the area yesterday.

“In a bid to ease the people’s burden, I have approved their applications for the installation of the water meter so that they will be able to enjoy clean water supply,” he said.

Musa said it was part of the government’s priorities to ensure that the people in rural areas could also enjoy all the amenities made available by the government.

When visiting the district polling centre in Kampung Padas, Musa said the close cooperation between state leaders and civil servants was the factor for Sabah’s success in reducing poverty rate.

He said the cooperation had enabled all poverty eradication projects and programmes for the targeted groups to be implemented successfully.

“Therefore, it is important to ensure that Barisan Nasional will continue ruling the country so that there will be a continuity in the implementation of the programmes to eradicate hardcore poverty, especially in the state,” he added. -Bernama
