SARATOK: Police have arrested a man after he ran amok and injured a teenager at Kampung Kaba here at around 11am yesterday.
Saratok police chief DSP Mordani Tanin said the suspect suddenly ran amok and allegedly slashed the 14-year-old boy using a machete.
“The victim suffered injuries to his head, arms and thigh due to the attack. He was rushed to Sarikei Hospital,” he said in a statement today.
Mordani said that the suspect then fled to his house and climbed to the roof, carrying with him a machete and an axe.
“It took the police 16 hours to persuade the man to come down and we eventually managed to arrest him at around 4am today, he added.
Mordani said the police are investigating the case.
