New cases drop to 53 in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded the lowest number of new Covid-19 cases today with 53 and Nabawan still topped the list with 11 cases.

“Alhamdulilah, good numbers today. Total new cases for Sabah are only 53,” twitted Sabah’s spokesman for Covid-19, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“Kota Kinabalu registered just one new case for the last 24 hours. The Sinsingon cluster in Nabawan appears to be under control with just 11 new cases. Please continue to observe all SOPs,” he added.

Keningau was second highest with eight cases, followed by Sandakan (5), Tawau (5), Kota Belud (4), Putatan (3), Papar (2), Penampang (2), Beluran (2), Kudat (2), Kinabatangan (2), Ranau (2), Kota Kinabalu (1), Kota Marudu (1), Sipitang (1), Pitas (91) and Tenom (1).

According to Sabah Covid-19 Disaster Management Committee’s Facebook page, one death each was recorded in Tenom and Sandakan.

Eighty-five patients were discharged, while 714 are still receiving treatment in hospitals (250), Covid Quarantine and Low-risk Treatment Centres (459) and Temporary Detention Centre/Prison (five).

No new clusters were recorded.
