KUCHING (June 10): A total of 4.5 per cent of the state’s population have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as of yesterday, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said.

It said in its Covid-19 daily update that this figure comprised 129,446 residents who have completed their second dose of the vaccine.

“In addition, 261,802 residents or 9 per cent of the total population in Sarawak, had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of June 9,” it said.

It also said that 7,059 individuals have been given the first dose of vaccination while 3,796 individuals received the second dose yesterday.

On another issue, SDMC said the police have arrested a woman from China in Kanowit for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).

It said the arrest was made as the woman was entertaining at an entertainment centre.

It also said that the police has issued 66 compounds in Kuching (22), Bintulu (15), Sibu (15), Padawan (5), Sarikei (3), Miri (2), Lawas (2), Betong (1) and Kapit (1) districts for SOP violations.
