Covid-19: 3 workers’ quarters among 15 localities in S’wak placed under EMCO

KUCHING (June 10): The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has placed 15 localities under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) including three workers’ quarters.

It said the EMCO for the workers quarters of DD Palm Oil Mill Sdn Bhd in Sebauh had been enforced on June 8 and will run for two weeks until June 21.

“Two other workers’ quarters belonging to Company Pekerja Permata Ramah in Tatau and Air Marine Cargo in Bintulu were placed under EMCO from yesterday (June 9) until June 22,” it said in its Covid-19 daily update.

Other localities that have been placed under EMCO were Rh Patrick Andin anak Uli, Sg Serakit in Sebauh from June 8 to 21; Rh Maring anak Gelagai, Ulu Sangan in Tatau, Rumah Sewa Pau Timber, KM5 Jalan Bintulu-Miri in Bintulu, Bilik Sewa Atas Kedai Eden, in Bintulu, Rh Wilson, Kampung Gran Stumbin, Tanjung Bijat in Sri Aman; and Rh Mathew, Kampung Gran A Stumbin, Tanjung Bijat in Sri Aman from June 9 to 22.

From today (June 10) until to June 26, Rh Rabong, Sg Lemayong, Bintangor in Meradong and Rh Mambong, Nanga Lingah in Julau will be under the EMCO while Kampung Kolong 2 in Kuching and Kampung Tambirat in Asajaya will be placed under EMCO from tomorrow (June 11) until June 24.

In Sibu, two longhouses namely Rh Grace Itun, Sungai Salim and Rh Pinggan, Sungai Salim will undergo the EMCO from June 12 to 25.

SDMC said an EMCO extension has been enforced for two longhouses.

“Rh Kanyan Anak Abok, Sg Penyarai, Kakus in Tatau will continue its EMCO for another week from tomorrow (June 11) until June 17 and Rh Lingga Sungai Selangan in Sarikei will have its EMCO extended for another three days from June 12 to 14,” it said.

The committee also announced the end of EMCOs for 13 localities in five districts.

It said in Bintulu, six locations have had their EMCO lifted namely BBC Plantation Sdn Bhd on June 8; and S4-S5 Foreign Lodge, L2-L3 Local Lodge, The Tulu, Rumah Sewa Leader Garage, and Rh Nompang Anak Banda, Dg Dujan, Pandan yesterday (June 9).

It added that the EMCO for Rh Suntie, Kampung Sebujok in Sri Aman had also ended yesterday.

Meanwhile, four villages and two longhouses had their EMCO lifted today.

They are Kampung Empila, Kampung Stakan Melayu and Kampung Sindang Baru in Kota Samarahan; Kampung Jaie, Sadong Jaya in Asajaya; and Rh Keli, Sungai Minus, Jakar and Rh Sabah Sg, Selangan in Sarikei.
