Covid-19: Sarawak records 544 new cases, second highest in country

KUCHING (June 13): Sarawak today recorded 544 new Covid-19 positive cases, holding the second highest number of cases in the country.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Facebook post said the new cases brought the state’s cumulative number of Covid-19 cases to 55,443.

Selangor topped the list with 1,973 cases while Kuala Lumpur held the third spot with 462 cases.

Four states recorded more than 300 new cases namely Johor (363), Sabah (335), Negeri Sembilan (331), and Kedah (301) while Penang registered 256 cases.

Other states that reported new cases were Kelantan (179), Labuan (158), Melaka (145), Perak (121), Pahang (78), Terengganu (46), Putrajaya (7) and Perlis (5).

Malaysia recorded 5,304 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of positive cases to 657,508 cases nationwide.
